This role provides 24-hour newborn coverage at a well-supported facility with flexible scheduling and a 6+ month commitment. Opportunity Details: Location: Sanford, NC Contract Type: Pediatric Hospitalist Locum Tenens Shift Schedule: 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM) Coverage: 15 shifts per month Long-term locum need (6+ months) Facility Details: Facility Name: Central Carolina Hospital Hospital Beds: 6 (Newborn Coverage Only) ICU Beds: 0 Annual Newborn Volume: 1,300 EMR System: Cerner Responsibilities: Round on newborn patients in the morning Be available to attend high-risk deliveries as appropriate Provide 24-hour in-house or on-call coverage within a 30-minute response time Respond to codes alongside the Emergency Medicine team Provider Requirements: Board Certified in Pediatrics (MD/DO) Active North Carolina State License & Unrestricted DEA Minimum Commitment: 15 shifts per month Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must be available for 24-hour shifts within a 30-minute call range Program Details: Day Coverage: 1 Pediatric Hospitalist (8 hours of rounding) Night Coverage: 1 Pediatric Hospitalist (on-call) Total Daily Census: ~3.6 patients Admissions per Day: ~50% of census Admissions per Night: ~50% of census Total Night Coverage: Less than the ADE (~3.6 patients) Temp Privileges Available: Yes Benefits & Support: Competitive Weekly Pay AAA Malpractice Coverage Dedicated Credentialing Assistance Full Travel & Lodging Support This pediatric hospitalist role offers a long-term locum opportunity with 24-hour shift availability in a well-supported hospital setting.
