Maintenance Manager

Our well-established client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager for their Portsmouth, NH plant. You’ll lead a skilled team to maintain and optimize equipment, utilities, and facilities, while championing continuous improvement initiatives. This full-time, direct-hire role offers a safety-conscious, dynamic work environment and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of all production equipment, utilities, buildings and grounds in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible
  • Manage utilities like HVAC, refrigeration, and compressed air to provide reliable services for all departments
  • Provide engineering insight and expertise in developing and implementing the Capital Plan
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements
  • Use computerized maintenance management system to maintain records and improve inventory control
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Foster a safe, secure, and efficient workplace while maintaining excellent internal and external customer service

Qualifications of the Maintenance Manager

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • 10+ years’ management experience in a maintenance and engineering related capacity, preferably in the food processing industry
  • Knowledge of related engineering principals including but not limited to: Pneumatics & Hydraulics, Industrial Electric Power, Electronics & Controls, HVAC, Refrigeration Theory & System Operation, Building Construction & Design, and Plant Layout & Workflow
  • Familiarity with public utility services and contracts, including Electric, Natural Gas, Water, Wastewater Treatment, and Wastewater Discharge
  • Knowledgeable in best practices for food processing equipment and facilities, and food safety requirements and procedures
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA rules and environmental regulations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
