Symmetrio is looking for an experienced Oracle E-Business Database Administrator to support a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. This role is crucial in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of enterprise database systems. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with EBS architecture, cloning, patching, and performance optimization, along with a deep understanding of upgrade methodologies and custom code retrofitting.

This position offers an opportunity to work on a high-impact project lasting 6 months to 1 year, with a salary range of $120,000 to $130,000.

This role supports the upgrade of a legacy Oracle EBS environment that underpins a customer billing system. The project includes detailed pre-upgrade planning, technical impact assessments, environment setup, and post-upgrade validation to ensure system integrity, performance, and business continuity.

• Lead the planning and execution of the Oracle EBS upgrade from version 12.1 to 12.2.
• Conduct detailed system assessments and risk analysis to support upgrade decisions.
• Collaborate with technical teams to define and configure development, test, and UAT environments.
• Develop plans for cloning, patching, and data migration in alignment with Oracle best practices.
• Coordinate with external vendors to assess and address custom module compatibility (e.g., for billing systems built on EBS).
• Define rollback strategies and post-upgrade performance testing protocols.
• Create detailed documentation and deliver knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Support cutover planning and resolve issues during final production deployment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle EBS DBA, including with versions 12.1 and 12.2.
• Proficiency with Oracle Database (11g, 12c, 19c), RMAN, Data Guard, and performance tuning.
• In-depth knowledge of ADOP, WebLogic, Fusion Middleware, and Oracle Applications DBA utilities.
• Experience leading or supporting Oracle EBS upgrade projects, preferably in complex or regulated environments.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Windows-based).
• Ability to assess custom code and design remediation strategies during version transitions.

• Experience with basis2 or similar customer billing systems built on Oracle EBS.
• Familiarity with concurrent processing, application tier architecture, and JVM tuning.
• Oracle certifications in DBA or EBS administration.
