Job Description

As a Security Professional - School Site - Entry Desk in Wayne, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more. As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, helping to create a welcoming and secure environment. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional presence at the front desk. You will use your communication skills to assist with inquiries and help to deter security-related incidents through your attentiveness and visibility. This role is ideal for individuals who are comfortable using computers or tablets and who thrive in a dynamic, people-focused setting. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering the premises.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and visitor logs as required by site procedures.
• Assist with emergency response activities when appropriate, including communicating with Allied Universal management and local authorities as needed.
• Support a welcoming environment while helping to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity at the front desk area.
• Communicate professionally with students, faculty, staff, and visitors, providing information and assistance as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
