Release Manager

Engineering Managers at Beyond Identity lead teams that are responsible for solving some of the most complex problems related to the world of identity management. As the Release Manager at Beyond Identity, you will be the guardian of our product's quality and release integrity. Your role is to ensure that every product deployment is reliable, secure, and compliant with the highest industry standards, including the stringent requirements of FedRAMP. You will be a critical part of our DevSecOps culture, embedding security and compliance directly into our Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.

We are looking for someone with the highest levels of technical talent, operational efficiency, people management skills and a desire to deeply understand our product and a passion for automating processes to mitigate security risks.

This position is hybrid and requires a regular presence at our Addison office a few days each week.

What You Can Expect to Do:

  • Work with Software Engineering and Site Reliability to prioritize, scope and plan business milestones.
  • Ensure our CI/CD pipeline gates are operational.
  • Build technical rollout plans to reach business milestones.
  • Foster a positive engineering culture in line with Beyond Identity values.
  • Build and execute on a technical roadmap.
  • Manage our release certification process.
  • Support timely delivery of solutions to deliver business needs, while providing a transparent view to progress.
  • Actively coach and mentor team members in their careers.
  • Be a reliable decision maker.
  • Automate deployment, testing, and rollback processes to ensure continuous and reliable delivery.
  • Oversee the Quality Assurance and Certification process by embedding security and functionality checks directly into the pipeline.
  • Implement automated security validation using tools like SAST and DAST.
  • Enforce consistent security standards through "policy-as-code".
  • Generate comprehensive and auditable trails of all changes and approvals for compliance documentation.
  • Ensure that all product updates undergo consistent testing and safely move through staging environments before reaching production.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide a stable, automated pipeline for continuous delivery.

What We Hope You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of engineering management experience with a proven ability to build awesome, high performing teams and lead complex technical initiatives
  • 5+ years of experience as a devops engineer, preferably in a fast growing Startup
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and Quality Processes
  • Understands and has practiced agile software development and management
  • Takes a principled approach to engineering
  • Comfortable managing team members with different skill sets and technical areas of focus and expertise
  • Motivated by a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure during high stress situations
  • Excellent Communication
  • Proven experience operating and managing CI/CD platforms like GitLab and GitHub.
  • Deep understanding of security and compliance in a CI/CD context (DevSecOps).
  • Experience in a regulated industry or with government compliance frameworks, such as FedRAMP.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage automated audit trails and documentation.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes and Helm for managing and deploying applications in a containerized environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a proactive approach to solving complex problems.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business.
