Job Purpose:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our client’s engineering team. This team supports critical mid-layer services across the organization and external partners. The selected candidate will focus on building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and services, working with customer data in cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, PySpark, Databricks, containerization, data streaming, and Agile/Scrum methodologies .

• Actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies and lead delivery of the strategic data engineering roadmap.
• Own the full application development lifecycle, including development, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Provide subject matter expertise, direction, and guidance on complex data engineering engagements.
• Collaborate closely with Architecture, Product, Development, and IT teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
• Initiate and drive process improvements for both new and existing systems.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and PySpark.
• Ingest, transform, and load large datasets from diverse sources.
• Implement robust data quality checks, monitoring, and validation processes.
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and scalability of data engineering solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Data/Software Engineering experience.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in Python and PySpark for large-scale data processing.
• 4+ years working with Containers (Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, EKS, or RedHat OpenShift).
• 4+ years experience with test automation .
• 5+ years experience with SQL and NoSQL databases .
• Strong experience with Databricks for data engineering and analytics.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git).
• Proven track record in Agile/Scrum enterprise application delivery .
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Desired Skills & Experience (Nice to Have):

• Java and Spring Boot development experience.
• Experience with Kafka for data streaming.
• Exposure to Cassandra and ElasticSearch .
