Responsibilities Structure the tax aspects of multinational private equity real estate investments, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions, and IPOs. Draft tax opinions, memos, structure decks, and Excel models demonstrating tax benefits of various structures. Assess the tax impact of regulatory changes on clients, develop tax arguments, and provide recommendations. Collaborate with practice groups such as Washington National Tax, Mergers and Acquisition Tax, and international KPMG teams. Review tax memoranda and opinions; prepare structuring papers; oversee funds flow and documentation; act as a primary contact for clients. Lead multiple engagements, foster collegial client service teams, supervise and mentor staff, and ensure professionalism and excellent service. Manage engagement processes and risk activities, leading teams of tax professionals. Additional Responsibilities for Senior Manager Manage engagement risks and financial performance, including billing, collections, and budgeting. Identify new market opportunities and contribute to the growth of KPMG’s tax practice. Qualifications At least five years’ recent experience in partnership, M&A, or federal tax planning at a law or accounting firm. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; CPA, EA, JD, LLM, or other approved credentials. Candidates without an approved credential at start have one year to obtain it. Experience managing multiple client engagements within the private equity, real estate, or hedge fund industries. Proficiency in partnership taxation, tiered fund structures, and broad tax law knowledge. Strong client relationship skills and ability to work with U.S. and international teams. Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills. Additional Qualifications for Senior Manager Minimum of eight years’ relevant experience in partnership, M&A, or federal tax planning.
