Now Hiring: Diesel Mechanic - First Student | Anniston City Schools, AL

Location: First Student - Anniston City, AL
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
Starting Pay: $25.00/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

First Student is now hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our dedicated team in Anniston City, Alabama , servicing and maintaining our fleet of school buses for the local school district.

Important: This is a Diesel Mechanic position. Applicants must have previous diesel mechanic experience and be 21 years of age or older due to CDL requirements.

What You'll Do

• Maintain and repair diesel-powered school buses to ensure student safety

• Diagnose and service brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, transmissions, and electrical systems

• Complete detailed and timely work orders

• Provide occasional mobile emergency repairs

• Ensure all work complies with DOT and safety standards

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older (due to CDL requirements)

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience required

• Valid driver's license with a willingness to obtain a CDL (we provide CDL training)

• Must have a personal set of mechanic's tools

• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork

• Interest in continuing professional development through ASE certifications
