Slate Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Hospice for a travel nursing job in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Registered Nurse - Hospice -
Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Days: every third weekend. Nights: every other
Call Required: Days: Yes, one 12-hour call shift a week (8p-8a)
Required Certifications: RN: BLS; Valid Drivers License
Required Education: RN: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Minimum Experience required: 1.5 years (MH requirement)
Will you accept a first-time traveler? If they have experience in home health and hospice
Travelers must live >100 miles away from facility
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
Patient Types: Home Health and Hospice dual role when on assignment training and support can be provided
Patient Ratios: RN: Routine 5-6 patients per day; Admissions approx. 2 per day. Each RN will work alongside an LPN will approximately manage a case load of 20-25 patients with the RN seeing each patient once per week
Skills required: RN: Oasis, hospice philosophy, infection control practices, wound vacs, wound care, picc line dressing changes, port access, IV infusions, drains, critical thinking skills, catheter insertion, drains; Ability to drive at night
CNA: Ability to drive at night
Support on the Unit: CNA: yes - provided to patient in home, Clinical Resource Nurse Designated Case Managers per Region, Phlebotomy: nurse draws lab in home, IV/VAT Team: Nurse provides
Charting System: Epic Remote
Floating: No
Orientation: (facility and unit) We orientate in the field.
