Position Overview As a Senior Cloud Data Engineer, you will take a lead technical role in driving data-driven transformation for our clients, with a specialized focus on the Snowflake Data Cloud . You will architect, build, and optimize scalable and performant data solutions, working closely with clients to translate their business needs into cutting-edge cloud data platforms. A key part of your role will be mentoring junior engineers, guiding them through technical challenges, and establishing best practices for cloud data engineering. Key Responsibilities Cloud Data Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end cloud data solutions on Snowflake , including data models, infrastructure, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integration strategies. Technical Execution: Develop and maintain robust data pipelines using SQL, Python, and modern data integration tools (e.g., Matillion, Fivetran, dbt). Implement Snowflake best practices for performance tuning, cost optimization, and security. Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand technical requirements, provide expert guidance on cloud data architecture, and deliver tailored solutions that meet their specific business needs. Data Modeling & Warehousing: Implement effective data modeling principles (e.g., Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault) within the Snowflake environment to support analytics and BI requirements. Team Mentorship: Oversee technical training efforts and mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices in cloud data engineering and fostering team growth. Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends in cloud data warehousing and the Snowflake ecosystem, advocating for and implementing new technologies and methodologies to enhance client solutions. Qualifications Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or cloud platform development. Previous experience in a consulting firm is highly desirable. Snowflake Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with the Snowflake Data Cloud , including virtual warehouses, data sharing, Snowpipe, streams, and performance optimization. Snowflake certification is a strong plus. Cloud Proficiency: Proven experience with a major cloud provider ( AWS, Azure, or GCP ), including services related to storage, compute, and security (e.g., S3, Blob, IAM). Technical Skills: Expert-level SQL skills and proficiency in a scripting language like Python . Experience with modern ETL/ELT and data transformation tools (e.g., Matillion, Fivetran, dbt, Airflow). Data Modeling: Strong knowledge of data modeling principles and their application in large-scale data warehouse environments. Consulting Skills: Excellent communication, analytical, and business-oriented skills with a proactive and participative attitude.
