As a Security Professional - School Site - Front Desk in Wayne, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more.

As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, helping to create a welcoming and secure environment. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and assisting with visitor management, all while providing outstanding customer service. You will use your communication skills to address inquiries and support the needs of the campus community. By maintaining a visible presence at the front desk, you help to deter security-related incidents and contribute to a positive atmosphere. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $20.21 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTime Thur 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM Fri 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk.
• Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and/or credentials as required.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Maintain a visible presence at the front desk to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
• Document and report security-related incidents, unusual activity, and/or emergencies according to Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
• Assist with visitor management, including logging guests and providing directions or information as needed.
• Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including communicating with emergency services and/or site management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
